CHILDREN OF GIANT

HOW THE MAKING OF A CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD MOVIE TRANSFORMED A SMALL TEXAS TOWN...

THE MAKING OF...
THE TRAILER
ABOUT THE FILM

In the summer of 1955, it seemed as if all of Hollywood had descended on the dusty West Texas town of Marfa as production began on the highly anticipated movie Giant. The film starred a legendary trio — Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. Now, 60 years later, Children of Giant returns to Marfa to explore the dramatic story behind the making of the film and its enduring legacy.

While this is an engaging look behind the scenes of a major motion picture, Children of Giant also digs into the themes of segregation and discrimination throughout the story of Giant and how that reality was playing out in Marfa--including at the segregated Blackwell School.

Featuring rare behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen photos, Children of Giant includes interviews with several noted film historians as well as Blackwell alumni who share memories of a complex history.
